We accept Medicare; however, we are a primarily cash-based therapy service.

Why do you not take insurance?

By remaining a cash-based service, we can provide the highest quality and most thorough evaluation and treatment plans to our patients. Insurance often dictates and limits the frequency and type of treatment provided, limiting a patient’s fullest recovery.

Why should I consider cash-based therapy?

By paying your therapist directly, you are able to have more control over your treatment and ultimately your recovery. You and your therapist will be able to create a treatment plan that works for you and doesn’t start or stop based on what insurance decides is appropriate. Many are already spending $60+ out of pocket with regular frequency for other wellness services such as massages or skin/nail treatments (just to name a few). What is your vision and independence worth to you and your family?

What’s the difference between vision therapy and vision rehab?

Vision therapy is a service provided by a certified vision therapist, often supervised by an optometrist or ophthalmologist. Vision therapists focus on improving visual processing and skills.

Vision rehabilitation is similar, but helps patients with vision loss and deficits adapt and function in daily life. Occupational therapists can offer these services when working alongside an optometrist or ophthalmologist for the safest and most evidence-based treatment. Occupational therapists are able to incorporate other important aspects into visual rehabilitation, like balance, sensory integration, coordination, the mind-body connection, etc., allowing us to take your recovery one step further and relate it to real life.

Where does treatment occur?

You and your therapist will decide where your evaluation/treatment will occur. We use our vision wherever we are, so the opportunities are endless, allowing us to apply the treatments implemented in the real world! We can meet at your home or out in the community in a space that is relevant to you.

How do I start the process?

To initiate therapy services, we require a referral from a doctor on your team requesting occupational therapy services. Your doctor can email your order to ashley.thomas@rewiredvisionrehab.com, or you can bring the order with you to your first appointment. To be seen, you must have an up-to-date doctor’s order.
